People always have something to say

The writing prompt for this was: People always have something to say. We had 6 minutes to write.

People always have something to say

Order, please, Order.

But I have to be heard.

   Not him, it’s my turn.

Forget about them, I know the answer.

The answer, I don’t even remember the question.

We need to have order.

I’ll take a ham and cheese on rye.

This is not the time for jokes.

It’s not a joke, I’m hungry, and we were told to order.

Can I have my say now?

Why should you go first? I’m the elder here.

Pardon me, but age doesn’t count here.

Says old money bags over there.

We can not accomplish anything unless we have decorum!

Oh, so now he wants decorum, I thought he wanted order.

If this continues, I will have to make the decision myself.

But what about our opinions? We should have a say.

I still say ham and cheese on rye.

Grow up, this is a business, not a deli.

That’s it! I adjourn this meeting. It’s over.

Suddenly, there was silence.

Everyone looked at each other with eyes that cast the blame on everyone else.

The chief executive just got up and went back to his office, shut the blinds so no one could look in, sat back, and ate the sandwich his wife prepared for his lunch.

Want to guess what it was?

About hdh

I have been telling stories for over 40 years and writing forever. I am a retired teacher and storyteller. I hope to expand upon my repertoire and use this blog as a place to do writing. The main purpose is to give me and others that choose to comment, a space in which to play with issues that deal with storytelling, storytelling ideas, storytelling in education, reactions to events, and just plain fun stories. I explore some of my own writing throughout, from character analysis, to fictional, to poetry, and personal stories. I go wherever my muse sends me. Enjoy!
