F: Future Insights
April 7, 2022
Dear Future Me,
I could use a little help here. You don’t have to tell me everything, sometimes it’s best to not know what is going to happen. But you do know what mistakes and blunders I will make. So can you give me a heads up on things I should work on to make those events, less painful?
I’ve already written to my past self to give him a heads up (https://www.hdhstory.net/Storyblog/?p=2984). But now it’s time for you to do the same for me in kind.
I don’t need exact dates, but give me some relative time periods to look out for. Family, friends, trips, work, play, good books to read, encounters with aliens, Nobel/Pulitzer prizes…you know those kinds of things.
You can even write to me from different times in the future. You can wait for a little while before writing depending on when you get this. I mean writing me a letter from tomorrow, about what I’m going to be doing later on today is not what I’m looking for. I’m looking for more like 5,10,15 years from now. And, if I live past the age of 100, definitely let me know that.
Am I going to get a book published? I’d really like to know that. Also if you could give me a clue as to what the book is about, it might get me motivated and started.
And with all this COVID stuff happening now and travel restrictions, it would be nice to know if there is a light at the end of the tunnel showing new vistas to visit rather than the light of an oncoming train. You don’t have to tell me everything, but maybe what’s one of the places Christina and I go that was one of our favorites. That way we can start planning.
So, please, send me a letter, drop me a line, or text me if you can. You’ve got my number.
I’d be glad to let you know how it all works out, but I guess you already know that.
Your present self,
Also Me
Wow. This made me smile and also tad bit sad as life is so uncertain!
Hope u get a text or may be a hint to be sure of few things if not all.
Love the letter!

My name is just above u 🙂
How clever. Wouldn’t that be exciting!
In retrospect, maybe there are just some things one shouldn’t know.
